The Rupee was trading at 64.13 a dollar, up 0.12% from its Tuesday’s close of 64.21.The Indian rupee strengthened marginally against the US dollar, ahead of the outcome of the two-day US Federal Reserve meeting due to start later on Wednesday.
The rupee opened at 64.14 a dollar. At 9.15am, the rupee was trading at 64.13 a dollar, up 0.12% from its Tuesday’s close of 64.21.
Asian currencies were trading higher. Malaysian ringgit was up 0.32%, South Korean won 0.18%, Philippines peso 0.15%, Singapore dollar 0.13%, Indonesian rupiah 0.13%, Taiwan dollar 0.09% and Thai baht 0.1%.
The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against major currencies, was trading at 98.93, down 0.05% from its previous close of 98.976.
