Gold down after US dollar gains
On Wednesday Gold futures closed low in the domestic market pressured by modest gains in the dollar, but prices headed higher in electronic trade after the Federal Reserve released minutes from its September meet.
Gems, jewellery exports up 11% to $14.43 bn during April-Aug
Exports of gems & jewellery grew by 11 % to $14.43 billion in the first five months of the current fiscal, driven largely by demand in India’s major markets like the US, said the media report.
Aluminium futures down by 0.27%
On Thursday Aluminium futures were trading low during the morning trade in the domestic market as participants cut down their positions in the industrial metal amidst subdued physical demand for aluminium in the domestic spot market.
Crude oil down as output rises
At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2016 contract closed at Rs 3357 per barrel, downward by 0.86 %, after opening at Rs 3400, against a last close of Rs 3386. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 3336.
Zinc futures down on subdued demand
Zinc futures were trading low during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as investors & speculators trimmed their bets in the industrial metal amid a drop in demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets.
At the MCX, zinc futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 150.55 per kg, downward by 0.23 %, after opening at Rs 150.60, against a previous close of Rs 150.90. It touched the intra-day lower of Rs 150.40.
